It is estimated that up to 80% of women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy and it most commonly falls between weeks 7-14. How to cure morning sickness is not an exact science because so many different variables can cause the symptoms to occur.
The first thing that you should know is that if you are vomiting more than 3 times a day you should consult your doctor. Also if you are vomiting blood, it looks like coffee grounds in your vomit, you should call your doctor immediately.
There are tons of techniques that you can try and unfortunately it will be trial and error for most of you. You will have to try different things until you find what works for you.
Most often women are told to have snacks with them and eat throughout the day. You might also want to have snacks next to your bed so that you can eat before you get up in the morning. An empty stomach will almost always cause nausea.
Try foods like ginger ale, ginger snaps, almonds, lemon candies, or lemon slices. Peanut butter spread on crackers or fruit can also help.
You may also want to try to dress coolly and avoid warm or crowded places.
Avoid smells that can make you sick like gasoline or cigarette smoke. Let your husband or the groomer take care of washing the dog.
Extra sleep and relaxation can help and finally, listen to your body. Take note of what you are doing when the nausea comes on. That will help you better identify what you need to avoid in order to feel better.
Needless to say there is no morning sickness cure but there are other tools and tricks to help you feel better.
